A drawing kit on the price chart
Until now the price chart on a ticker page was something you read. It is now something you can mark up.- A toolbar down the left edge of the chart. Nine groups sit on the rail — Lines, Shapes, Channels, Fibonacci, Pitchforks, Gann, Forecasting, Measurement and Annotations. Clicking a group icon picks up its most-used tool straight away; the small chevron beside it opens the full list for that group, so a trend line is one click and a Fibonacci wedge is two.
- Lines and channels. Trend lines, rays, horizontal and vertical lines, extended and cross lines, trend angles, parallel and disjoint channels, flat top/bottom and regression trends.
- Studies. The full Fibonacci set — retracement, extension, channel, time zone, speed fan, circles, spiral, arcs and wedge — alongside Andrews’, Schiff, modified Schiff and inside pitchforks, and Gann boxes, fans and squares.
- Shapes and annotations. Rectangles, rotated rectangles, circles, ellipses, arcs, triangles, curves and price ranges; plus text, callouts, notes, price labels, flags, pins, signposts, arrow markers and a highlighter.
- Position and range tools. Long and short position tools, projections and forecasts, a bars pattern, and date or date-and-price range measurements.
Making a drawing your own
Select anything you have drawn and a small toolbar appears beside it.- Colour and weight. Six colours, four line widths and a dashed toggle. Text objects carry a colour of their own.
- Edit the words. Text, notes and callouts reopen for editing straight from the toolbar.
- Lock it in place. A locked drawing stays exactly where you put it while you keep working on the chart around it.
- Remove it. Delete a single drawing from the toolbar or press Delete or Backspace while it is selected. Once the chart holds at least one drawing, a bin icon appears at the bottom of the rail to clear them all at once.
- Undo and redo. Ctrl/Cmd + Z steps back through your drawing history and Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Z steps forward again.
Your drawings stay with the ticker
Drawings are saved in your browser against the ticker you made them on. Leave the page, come back tomorrow, and the chart is exactly as you left it — while a different ticker opens with a clean chart of its own rather than someone else’s lines.Drawing is a desktop feature. On a phone or tablet the chart behaves as it did before, so a tap never turns into an accidental trend line.
Open, high, low, close and volume as you hover
Moving the crosshair across the price chart now brings up a tooltip with the full candle behind the point you are on — its open, high, low and close, its volume, and the change over that period. The label carries the same colour mark the chart uses, so a rising and a falling candle read apart at a glance without stopping to check the numbers.Insider activity and peers on stock pages
Two sections that had been building against sample data now run on live data and are switched on for everyone.- Recent Activity lists insider transactions for the company — the date of the trade, who made it, the amount and whether it was a purchase or a sale — so you can see who inside the business has been buying or selling and when.
- Top Peers puts the company beside comparable names on the metrics that matter for a like-for-like read: free cash flow per share change, LTM revenue change, EV/Sales and the P/E ratio.
Help beside your work
Help used to slide in over the page. It now opens as a panel in the same dock as ticker search, which means it sits alongside your content rather than covering it, and it behaves like the rest of the platform’s panels rather than a one-off overlay.Smaller things
- Table headers now say what they mean. Column names are abbreviated to keep tables readable, which left some of them cryptic. Hovering a column header now shows the full description of the metric rather than repeating the abbreviation — across the screener, widget tables and ticker-page tables alike.
- One market order across the platform. Market lists used to come out in whichever order the code happened to produce, so the screener tabs, the heatmap tabs, ticker selection and dashboard presets each disagreed slightly. They now all follow the same order: Stock, Crypto, Forex, Commodities, ETF, Index.
- Sharper widget previews. The thumbnails you see when adding a widget to a dashboard were exported at half the resolution modern screens ask for and looked soft. All of them have been re-exported at double density.
- News filters trimmed to what works. The news feed offered ticker, location, include and source filters that the feed behind it does not yet support, so setting one changed nothing. They are hidden until they do something, leaving date range and sort order — both of which work.
